A series of random explicit thoughts

Who am I? What am I? Where am i headed in life? All questions I ask myself every single day. I consider myself a morally good person deep down but just technically flawed. Is this just a biased opinion? Am i really what i guess myself to be? Do people see me through the same eyes as i do?

Deep questions for the day...

In other news we're approaching my birthday. The past two birthdays have been very depressing affairs as the realisation that i'm getting old starts to hit home. This birthday I hit the mega age of 23. There is really no kidding the fact I will be old at this point...the whole blaming it on maturity of youth is really being lost as i get another year older.

The horrible thing is at 23 my Mum and Dad got engaged. Now i know we're in a new society where most people get married in their 30's but still. I'm single in a job which i'm not particularly bad at but i don't see as my type of job. I don't see it as my final finishing job. A job to work in for the rest of my life.

Yet where do i actually see myself...Anyone know the answer to this?

To end tonight's entry let's discuss my birthday plans. It'll be this saturday. I like to call this night as the mega drinking celebration of my loveliness. If you're interested on this tour of excellence to new and crazy realms of drunkness please get in touch with me.

Being a bit of a psychopath i always consider October 6th (the day before my birthday) as a bit of a series finale in my life before the next 'series' begins with my birthday. This began when i was a young kid with youthful humour and wit. But what has actually transpired is that weird things happen on this day. Really weird things.

Either things which have been building up recently explode in a mess of awkwardness or drama or i find out something interesting...October 6th always seems to tie up my year proceeding in a nice little bow. Fingers crossed the weird tradition continues this year.

Until next time,

This has been a rather deep, reflective and kind of weird behaving

David Rooney: The Finest Music 2008

Everyone produces rip off music albums for hit teen tv shows. Well i'm not a teen and i'm not technically a tv show (though don't tell me that) but hell music has played a big role in my year of 2008. My ipod goes everywhere with me. It's 4GB of lovely memory stores around 1200 songs and whenever a big event in my year happens...tragic or funny i seem to have the habit of grabbing the ipod hitting the shuffle button and somehow stumbling onto a song that i forever link the event with. Sounds weird? Well it's me...

Plus there's also some songs i've liked lots this year. Some songs on this list i don't like. But have a symbolic meaning to me for this year of all years.

Enjoy...or mock me. Whatever is easier.

1) Gimmie More- Britney Spears
(A legendary song. I choose a song every year to be my 'year song'. A song that i hope represents my year ahead. Or mainly a song i like around December time...I saw Gimmie More as boss. An arrogant song of me telling the world to "give me more". Unfortunately the world heard and proceeded to give me a lot of cack. Maybe the song is ironic then...

2) Hoppipola- Sigur Ros
Perfect emotional music. When my life starting going down the crapper i went and looked for an emotional song. Kev Mc provided me the inspiration. If you want to slash your wrists this is the song for you...

3) Longest Road- Morgan Page
Lets throw in some popular dance music. A classic song. It was a long road of a year...but usually more symbolic when i'm walking home from the pub with the 1 mile stretch of road ahead...

4) Scream- Timbaland
Because at many times i felt like screaming is probably why i held this song warmly...Plus the jazzy token generic beats.

5) If i never see your face again- Maroon 5 and Rihanna
Break up night. I'm with Armstrong. Emotions running high. This song comes out on. Relief passes through me. I have a chorus. A chant. I also have a very bad hangover the next day in work.

6) With you- Chris Brown
I know i might get abused for this choice. But this song doesn't have any significant reason for being in my album its just a good song. Plus i like listening to with my hood up and doing a chris brown dance down the street...

7) Changes- David Bowie
No explaination needed...

8) Rehab- Rihanna
Gran Canaria was my rehab. Vodka was my lover.

9) Numb Encore- Jay Z and Linkin Park
Holiday song played a lot on random shuffle. Every night on holiday was my encore. Drinks flowing, laughter and black prostitutes sexually assaulting

10) The man who can't be moved- The Script
A mega song. I don't know why people don't like it. Was 2008 the year Rooney could not be moved? Song was almost written about me...We'll be sure to find out later on in the year...

Until next time fans enjoy the lovely camp music. I'm sure to add to this list in the coming weeks as i realise what songs i've missed out/find more crappy songs.

Tomorrow i'll tell you why i rule the world. Not the Coldplay song either.

The First Night- A warning shot.

This first night really paved the way for the total fucked up holiday ahead. Consider this little problem ahead. You get a plane to Gran Canaria at 8pm. You arrive tired, sweaty and destroyed at around 12:30. You wait in a humid airport for 30 minutes waiting for you suitcase to finally arrive. You then set off on a coach filled with other hot and sweaty people for a 30 minute drive in total darkness to your hotel. Whilst on the way dropping off irritating people before you.

What do you do once you finally get in?

Sleep surely.

Nope not David.

I'm not even trying to big myself up for this one either. Since both Martin and Will decided to go to sleep (it had been a long day) i wanted to go for a quiet walk to see the sights. I should have realised it would go dreadfully wrong due to the fact our hotel was next to the irish centre and all its fine bars and clubs.

As I made the 2 minute walk towards the centre I was stopped by a black prostitute. These thieving whores would make many appearances on my holiday with the climax of our run in's the famous robbery that took place which I generally deserved due to me being totally fucked. But tonight all they did was attempt to persuade me for some sexual antics behind a dumpster.

Let me paint a picture of these women. Fat, Black, Sweaty, Greasy haired whores. You could literally smell the exrement on them. Even though I was sober i would have forced them to pay me a large amount of money (possibly a million quid) for me to even contemplate sleeping with them. I would then have been forced to eliminate them from the planet and bathe in some toxic waste to totally cleanse myself.

Sober David panicked and ran away from the whores and into the welcoming arms of....an irish man advertising a bar who ushered me into a bar. It all felt so welcoming and a relief to have an irish angel to free me from the filthy whores outside. Plus he offered me 2 for 1 on drinks and 2 free shots. This felt like good business in the credit crunch....

I surveyed my situation. I was trapped in an irish karaoke bar. I was alone with 2 very strong doubles (in Gran Canaria the vodka takes up about 70% of the glass- no shit). Around me were irritatingly loud families and bad singers who kept taking the stage denying the fact they couldn't sing. Aren't holidays hilarious for the amount of tits who think because they're in a different country and drunk they can suddenly sing bat out of hell and "i would walk 10000 miles". But i didn't care. I'd just arrived on holiday. I had cheap drinks.

Obviously my body wasn't used to the strength of the vodkas and suddenly it felt a good idea to climb the stairs in the building and go to the night club on top. It was 2am.

The night club was reasonably busy considering it was late September. The sights around me were comical. Girls slutting it up by dancing like whores around each other wearing nothing but bikinis (i love bitter David) and idiot guys passed out on the tables waking up only to attempt to pull a girl. It was a train wreck. Suddenly I looked reasonably normal as i sat alone drinking more doubles.

When she showed up.

The Irish Angel. Aofie.

She beckoned me over with her friend who were on the table in front. At no point did i consider I would have a chance with such an "angel of the night". It was a correct assumption. But that didn't matter. She was fit. She was irish. I was alone in a night getting further drunk. Now when i returned home i would look like a hero to all those around me by the sheer fact i'd be hammered and have photos of me and fit girls.

After every double The RoonMeister was slowly appearing on the scene until the bastard arrived with a full force. Suddenly I was buying shots for everyone on my table. People began to cheer my name. I couldn't understand the majority of what people were saying due to the accents but regardless as i told will later on whilst drunk "I fucking loved it".

Next up came Irish Brian. It was his last night in Gran Canaria. For some reason I got his phone number. What a legend. I remember ripping the shit out of everyone else in the bar with Brian. If I was a woman i'd even do Brian. That accent alone made me weak at my knees. I saw the moves Brian was making on the angel Aofie. Unfortunately I was not a good partner in crime for Brian as at this point i was too drunk and confused to fuck off and leave the two of them. I remained half collapsed up against the window.

I even got Aofies number though it turned out later to be fake. Cock blocked and humiliation. I later saw her again and she bought me a shot of tequila. She maintained the number to be correct and gave me her bebo to add her. I didn't have bebo but for fucking Aofie i'd have a bebo. She has requested my friendship so the jury is still out on the phone number. I tend to believe her due to the fact she's republic of ireland. I was attempting to call an irish number, from an english mobile which was on a spanish network. At least thats my story and i'm sticking to it.

Eventually i got onto the fact that Aofie and Brian wanted a quiet night and collapsed into my room. It was 5am. In the process waking Will up. This would be a largely reoccuring theme for that poor bastard who would be forced to share a room with me. I woke him up knocking on the door drunkenly and telling him my stories of fine doubles and hot girls.

He looked at me puzzled at how my walk descended into a 5 hour binge drinking session with about 6 irish people. I had no answers to the questions. I would spend the rest of my holiday attempting to reveal these truths.

I think from this point i never hit the perfect drunk-sober level. Emotion and anger would set in during future nights. Whilst some of the people i spoke to this first night i would see around again and they'd blank me due to the fact on the future nights i was way too hammered. On this night it all worked. I was THE MAN.

I have returned

My holiday is over. 7 days of boozing and much merryment has come to a close. It was quite possibly the greatest holiday i've ever been on in terms of sheer comedy value and to the extreme fucked upness of it all (is that even a word- it is with me). In 2006 I was a love struck fool who pined after his woman. In 2007 the holiday was boss but tame due to early returns home. Plus can you truly have a crazy holiday with your girlfriend?

In 2008 the rules had changed. I had problems to deal with. What was the best way to deal with those problems? Getting drunked every single damn night. A feat I achieved with spanish vodka, wkd, rose wine and baileys all leading to a great deal of messed up consequences and comedy storylines.

Before I really start a full recap of what happened I need to introduce you to the many different faces of David Rooney who showed up on holiday. I usually state that David and "The RoonMeister" are different people. That the RoonMeister shows up usually during the stage of complete drunkness. I do this purely for the comedy and egotisticalness of it. On holiday 2008 4 DIFFERENT people showed up. Let's meet them:

David Rooney- The obvious person. He was a little bit more sarcastic than usual and a little bit more louder than usual. Other than that it's the usual sober guy you usually meet every day.

The RoonMeister- The wild, cool and sexy drunk version of David. He was on fire this holiday. Everyone loved him. Guys would shake his hand and girls would throw themselves into his fine strong hands. He would do large amount of shots, dance around like the king of cool and generally destroy anyone verbally who stood in his way. This was The RoonMeisters moment. Unfortunately for him two other blokes showed up.

Emotional David aka Year 12 David - I was a little surprised then this bloke showed up though with the events of the previous 9 months maybe it was inevitable he'd show up. Emotional David was quiet, reflective and generally irritating. He would show up at the wrong occassions and generally cause me to go on reflective walks usually armed with a vodka and mainly quieten me down. He caused me to go to the beach one day with emotional music playing (a total year 12 thing to do) and showed up at many awkward occassions.

Angry and Bitter David- Probably the offspring of Emotional David. Angry and bitter David was unbelieviable cool and funny but generally pissed off people more than The RoonMeister could/ He hated everything and everyone. He hated women as well and went on a genuine 15 minute rant to Will about the desperation of love and the denial of marriage. Most people hated angry and bitter David. To be honest I did too. But he was pretty damn funny too at the same time.

All these David's came out at some point during the holiday. On a few occassions all 4 David's came out during one bloody night. It was irritating to be in such a weird set of mood's from the ultimate high to the all mighty low in the case of half an hour but I didn't get too wound up by myself believing it to be quite natural considering the cock of the year. So I took it all in my stride. I did my emotional walks then required (and they were beneficial), I ranted and alienated people when required and did my wild shots and poses with every girl and boy whenever I felt the need to be crazy.

It was a badly staged comedy with hilarious consequences both emotionally and drunkenly. I shall share you some of my stories over the next few days including pictures and videos of the sheer fuckedness.

Greetings stranger

Hello friends and family from sunny gran canaria. Yes i have sunk to a new low by actually purchasing time on a computer whilst the sun is beaming outside and the sea is lovely and blue. Instead i´m in a dusty room with a keyboard whos spacebar is broken meaning a man of my speed and amazing keyboard skills has been slowed down to that of an old age pensioner attempting to load windows.

I was going to tell you the stories from my holiday. Well stories from the first night and have a new day to recap each day. I will still do that but because of the shit keyboard i´ll leave that probably for then i return home. Instead i´ll give you a break down of the basics of my holiday so far as we head into the final night.

Fucked up.

Its been a mega holiday which i doubt i´ll ever recover from. Part of my soul has been lost forever through alcohol, rabid dogs and absolute clowning behaviour.

Here´s some highlights so far to keep you going

- Went out the first night for a walk alone as had only just touched down. Made friends with a bloke called Brian from Ireland. Staggered home hammered.

- Got robbed by a devious prostitute who pick pocketed me whilst i was stumbling around drunk looking for Martin. She just took the money and left my wallet on the floor...how kind of her. I retrieved wallet and woke up next day shocked...

- Got chased with Martin by a rabid dog whilst drunkenly walking down a dark road.

- Accidently entered a German bar and caused major offence. Whilst drunk.

- Fell down a steep road down a hill which had been turned into a river by all the rain. Again with Martin.

-Insulted numerous people by being drunk and bitter towards life.

Yes this holiday i´ve introduced the world to mega bitter Rooney. He hates seeing people happy and nearly every woman in the world. He´s cool. Thankfully the alcohol shuts him up and out comes The RoonMeister every womans worst nightmare because of his sheer twattory. But he doesn´t care...he´s just after the double vodkas and free shots.

Anyway i´ll go into more details once i return on Tuesday Morning. Until we see each other i´ll show off some spanish i´ve learnt.

Hola
Gracias

El Rooney xx

Farewell but not goodbye

So here i am off on holiday until next Tuesday. I hope you all miss me and cry continously. As you're all weeping i will be getting excessively drunk repeatedly and making a complete ass of myself in a different country. Ah superb.

The hilarious consequence of all this is i return to liverpool at around 6am and i'm in work at 8am that very same day. Usually i'm in work at 11:30 on a tuesday...but this one sodding week it's a normal start of 8am. Bollocks. So basically if the plane wants to delay itself (it usually does) it means i'll be making an expensive call from Gran Canaria to work trying to get some emergency leave at the last minute. Damn.

I should be out that Tuesday Night in the Blue Angel. If you're interested get in touch with my box office help line (i.e Armstrong).

Until next time fans,

I love you all. And you love me.

I am absolutely fantastic

Sunday night and I have successfully packed my suitcase. Well if i'm honest i've successfully reminded my mum to pack my suitcase. To be fair this time i did attempt to pack my own stuff but i got a look of complete disdain from my mum like i had just let rip in her immediate location.

"You're what?"
"i'll pack my own bag"
"No no you'll miss it up"
"But i should learn..."
"No i'll do it. It's easier"

I'm not one to argue with women. Ask my ex. Whenever an argument occurs with a woman i would walk out. Arguments never solve anything. It was always the time to leave the house, listen to some emotional music and wait for the inevitable phone call begging you to return to your loved one. Especially arguments based on packing suitcases for a 7 day holiday. Plus her packing everything solves a lot of problems. I get to write to all you lovely people and also have well folded clothes.

Obviously without me present in this fine country i will be unable to attend our weekly teachings. But RooneyManiac I feel you'll be just fine you have learnt a lot about how to become a better if you've read all my entries and made notes. However if you are desperate for more of my gooey knowledge go onto www.livejournal.com and search my name. You'll find about 2 years of bitter rants from yours truly. All which have very high educational merit.

In some good news I have a new memory card so should be able to take pictures and videos to unleash on you all once i return. I can take around 1500 pictures and 30 minutes of video. Do i detect a complete abuse of photos? Possibly. Maybe a spanish version of fantastico football with me in a spanish bar interviewing a spanish beauty called Fernando whilst having Armstrong on speaker phone. The possibilities are endless. Don't know what fantastico football is yet? Add me on facebook you'll find them all on my video section...

God i'm being good to you all tonight. I think i'm preparing you for my absence.

Had a lot of feedback over the potential movie. It should be filmed around November time. Actually I lied about the movie feed back. I've had just one comment from a concerned Maniac who felt his hero may go too far in this movie masterpiece.

"You're not going to bury certain people in it are you?"

Comic geniuses usually cross this line a lot in order to trigger the most reactions, the bigger audience and the best laughs. But I have no dirty laundry to air in this movie. Well okay i'll be honest. There will be a few digs at a few people who went missing in action, a few digs at a few peoples geographical locations, a few pregnancy digs, a few bad impressions of people and a few sheep jokes.

But in all seriousness i don't have any digs to make to people due to the fact I don't hate anyone enough to actually spoil the beautiful moral message of my life in this artistic masterpiece. The people I began to dislike actually did quite a good recovery so now i feel little no to emotion for them or their kin. I could go on all day about this but its not very entertaining.

Right now i'm done with this entry. I'll leave you with some questions though.

- Who is the most amazing person you know
- who is lovely?
- Who is madly funny

The answer is...

Until next time fans,

The RoonMeister and David Rooney

I AM going to make a movie on me!

Yeah you know what after drunkenly writing the weird advert for "movie" (which was ripped from a real movie advert) based on my year of 2008 i decided to actually look into whether I could create a movie based on the shambolic advents of said year. After much walking, listening to my Ipod and alcohol I decided this was in fact very possible to do!

Plus it's a mega egotistical thing to do. Thinking you're important enough and massive enough to actually be worthy of an autobiographical movie based on one year of your life. I do think all these things already so making a movie would not be a big step i'd need to take.

Obviously some things i need to put to rest first before I go into any more detail on my movie provisionally titled "The Fall of David Rooney":

- I use the word movie loosely. It'll be filmed on a tiny camera. Quality will be acceptable but probably a bit shaky if i'm running at the time (yes i plan to run)

- Can you class something that would probably only last half an hour a movie?

- I would be recreating some aspects of my life in 2008 but also making a lot up. The true events which did occur i'd put a comic spin on and include more alcohol and more nudity.

The whole comic spin is obviously a given. How could I get my friends to star in it if it was 30+ mins of tragic sadness...where's the joy in that. This movie would feature the dramatic fall from grace for David but all shown in a comic light (obviously the worst part of my year would not be included at all) so i'd like to class the movie as a tragic comedy. Which a lot of people use to describe my life anyway...

Some ideas and thoughts i'd have for the movie.

- I'd be the main character. Obviously. I'm the kind, lovely and amazing hero who life tries to screw over.

- I'd actually play two characters. After finishing with my girlfriend Emily (we will be on the wedding steps when we break up) I turn to alcohol to fix my problems and begin to write my problems down on my blog. After a lot of alcohol I regenerate into another character. The infamous The RoonMeister. A guy who shows no emotion, drinks too much but this time pulls more women than Hitler (he may have pulled a lot). Think of The Mask movie. I'm David Rooney the normal guy but once drunk i am taken over by the RoonMeister and wake up dreading what i've done. The RoonMeister has been created by my feeling of loss but also turns out to actually save my soul even if he is a remorseless sexual degenerate.

- Ken would play my blog. Yes this truly is a fucked up idea for a totally fucked up movie. Ken would in a sense play my sub conscious. I'd express my thoughts of anger, hatred, love and admit my failings to Ken. He'd be alongside me always but no one else would see him or react to him. Imagine the comedy aspects this could open up. I'm talking to ken in the movie about my feelings in one scene and people would ask me "who are you talking to?". Comic genius. I don't know why Ken has to play this part i just couldnt imagine anyone else doing so.

- I bed two women as the roonmeister and wake up regretting both decisions. One turns out to be a total psychopath (obviously) and the other turns out to be madly in love with me to the point of stalking (ironic twist to the formula of my life...)

- I have a Rocky like training scene where i'm jogging trying to get my life in order with me jogging alongside Will who is driving slowly down the road shouting encouragements. Next a couple of scenes of me climbing a lamp post, jumping over a bin before finally jumping on a park bench with arms aloft celebrating rocky style.

- I get arrested for travel fraud.

- There's a lot of stupid scenes planned of the RoonMeister who i'll make into a completely cool but ultimately wreckless guy. Whenever a bit of alcohol touches my lips he comes out of me. Imagine the hulk scene or when clark kent becomes superman. As i will be ripping my shirt open to turn into the roonmeister who will be wearing a t shirt with the word 'rooney' on it. He'll also wear some 1980's style shades.

- I get caught up in a drug gang war as people mistake me for the cousin of famous footballer Dwayne Rooney the fine striker for Tolcaster United. Expect more running, squealing as i attempt to hide and try in vain to bring out the roonmeister who probably would fight the thugs only to receive a beating with a large loaf of tiger bread.

- I'm sacked from ASDA. Which will be filmed in ASDA. Think of how boss that could look...

- At the end of the movie the theme of recovery and rebuilding starts. A rather dramatic and perhaps blasphermous scene will occur where people will pick me up in the air. Cheesy music will play as i'm literally rebuilt...

Does his story end happily in this remix of the year? Well no the theme for the movie is survival and rebuilding. I survive the madness of the year to become a more mellowed person. But i can assure you there will be a few tears at the climax of the movie.

Obviously now what is needed is actually planning when to film the movie. There is no need for a script. I would give people the basics of each scene and any important words needed to be said. Other than that its blind luck what we film.

Also and probably more funny is the movie will be filmed primarily in my house over an entire weekend. I would provide the alcohol. We would film all day saturday with scenes outside a church and in asda. Saturday night we'd get hammered and film all night whilst sleeping in mine Sunday would include more drinking which will then hilariously include the running scenes as i get fit and the other scene of running away from hired thugs (who i imagine will be wearing football kits). Maybe i'd throw in some wacky outfits too. I'm thinking i'd like someone to wear a clowns suit.

So pretty much the movie is a wacky fucked up version of my real year with a lot more alcohol injected, a comic twist and partial to full nudity. Scenes filmed from total amateurs with fucked up outfits and every scene showing the actors getting more and more wasted.

When shall we film? Well i predict i'll have a free house soon. I'll let you all know then i do. As for the people i need. Well i need the people who played a part in my 2008 life (i.e the close friends of yours truly), also some hired goons and two women who would be prepared to get into bed with me without their top or wearing a vest top with the straps down to tease the camera that we are both waking up naked next to each other.

Oh the hollywood effects eh!

I think this movie would absolutely PWN. I have so many ideas. Ideas i couldnt even put down here as they'd blow YOUR MIND AWAY. You wait for it! The Fall of David Rooney will be the greatest most fucked up movie you will ever experience in your damn lives! Plus...i think we'll all learn something about each other in the process of making this spiritual movie.

The Blue Angel 4 times in one week...

Check out the title for today's entry. That is basically how i've spent my first week of annual leave away from work. Excessive amount of alcohol drinking in the student loveable dive known to all of us as the blue angel. Well the students wee back after all...it turned into a perfect week for my holiday to fall on.

However i must stress i didn't abuse the blue angel excessively. Each night was different. I learnt a different moral lesson from each drank i consumed and each night i spent in that womb of society we also refer to as the raz.

For example...

Saturday Night with Kev was what i'd describe as a cosy night. A lovely pre funeral chat in the room upstairs i like to call the VIP room. Sweet drinks, a fat frog (even if its the wrong type of fat frog...vs blue what am an animal?) and nice conversation. It was a relaxing type of night. It was like getting a massage. Only better. And with sweet sugar filled alcopops.

Tuesday Night was with Pete, Hatch and Army. It was an old fashioned tuesday night. £1 a drink, i got massively drunk and the place was jammed to the hilt. If someone had turned to me and asked if i'd seen Brazil play today in the 2006 world cup i probably would have believed it. I was pretty damn drunk too. A great crowd of people and over 20 people's facebook names. Score! Who needs people's phone numbers! I did get one persons though. She was a lesbian.

Dawsons creek spin off entitled "generic alcoholics" was panned by critics

Thursday Night with Armstrong. It was a quiet night where i'd gone to the mogul with my sister for the quiz. After somehow getting the bonus question right (how many episodes did some mothers do av em- thanks google) we won a free bottle of wine. A lot of wine later i arrived in the blue angel. The costs were low as i was propped up against the bar all night with army chatting to the barmaid (the greatest barmaid in the world due to the fact she's funny, good to talk to and does sometimes provide drinks at low prices. If you catch my cheeky drift).

Friday Night with work people. Jame's leaving night out. I foolishly got into a round drinking wine. What happened was we all bought too much wine and probably all got stupidly drunk. I ended up spinning around a pole in the blue angel getting frowned at and called a child. I wondered why. When i released the ladies surrounding me were 30+. Bad times.

(The girl on the right looks scared of me. Obviously the rest all digged this fat frog smelling, intoxicated idiot asking them for a picture to make me look a frigging legend/pathetic human specimen)

All in all a wonderful festive week off work. Who needs the clubs of zante then you can go to the centre of the universe and party all night long on cheap drinks and famous music. Who cares if the women every other night except tuesday are up their own arses, stick closer to their boyfriend than a gangster does to his gun in the lovely neighbourhood of Kirkby and the majority don't seem to dig a drunken idiot calling himself 'The RoonMeister' getting a picture with them. Heaven forbid.

Above and below were some classic snaps of my week in the blue angel. Okay actually just from the one night cameras memory card worked (anyone got a spare xd memory card for my holiday- yes i'm going on holiday monday...didn't i tell you?) and also the one night people were friendly rather than showing me disdain. Bastards.

(I got all their facebooks!!!!!!!!!!! Yes.....)

Until next time fans and family. It has been a joy to yet again show you my world of madness, tears, laughter Rooneyness. Until next time mucho sexiness,

The RoonMeister and David Rooney

Holy ****! A movie based on my year!

Directed by Paul Armstrong and financed by Peter Tideswell's beer fund this movie has classic independent film award winner written all over it. A movie based on the sad decline of my fortunes this year and all the madness what occurred in it. Dramatic, tragic, heart warming with a little bit of wit and some partial nudity involved. A movie that will make you cry, laugh, feel a little suicidal and even pee just a tiny little bit into your pants.

Think of a dramatic blockbuster advert for a movie. Dramatic music. Dramatic lighting. With various cut scenes from my year being played to advertise the mega movie. But with every scene being overplayed dramatically to be ultra cheesy serious. You know actors who are acting so hard but are in fact not very good at acting. With the following words being spoken...Obviously the movie won't exactly be truthful to what happened. Creative license and all that.

(Filmed in a moody black and dark to reflect the mood of the film)

*The first scene is me sat at an Asda till as Jimmy Brannigan looks at me with pity*

Jimmy: "You'd be a pretty cold bastard if you didnt want revenge for the death of someone you loved"
Me "i dont think the dead care about vengeance. Me and this man have some unfinished business"

*Cut to Central Station*

Guard: First thing u shud know about us. is we have people everywhere

*Pans back to my house*
Mum: what the hell is this organisation rooney. how can they be everywhere and be such massive jobsworths?

*Zooms to the blue angel with a blue angel barmaid holding a bottle of wkd blue*
Blue Angel barmaid: this is the worlds most precious resource, we need to control as much of it as we can. There will no blue wkd sold here anymore

*Back to my bedroom i'm on the computer with kevin mcevoy. Both wearing handsome shirts and sunglasses*

Me: Who is he?
(You see kev loading up facebook)
Kev: he is a person of extreme interest

(Hospital ward)

Doctor: we have already begun destablishing your life
(dramatic scene of me punching the wall after said quote)

Random woman: You know who Rooney is and you want to put us in bed with him
(Armstrong nods head)

(We pan next to a street in the middle of the night. It's raining and you see Rooney walking staggering up the middle of the road. He's obviously hammered)

McGuinness: get in
Me: fine

(Dinner party event. Rooney wearing tux. Evil smug guy is standing up in the middle of the room. Everyone is quiet. He is pointing wildly at Rooney)

Gavin Henson: conform with this one Mr Rooney she wont go to bed with you unless you give her something she really wants. Fake emotion.
(smirks arrogantly)

(Me and will are in his car. Pete is in the backseat. He has a cut on his head)
Will: i think someone wants to kill you Rooney

(It's pop world. Rooney is collapsed in fetal position with Armstrong wildly dancing around. Suddenly music stops. Kate Rugen gets on the microphone)

Rugen: You two do make a charming couple though
(It pans on me and armstrong looking drunk and emotional)
Rugen: You're both whats the expression? Damaged goods.
Rooney: It's the year!! I lost everything!! *Screamed with me on knees*

*Standing on street corner on a random road. It's night time. Again*
Rooney: it seems we're both using that girl to get something.
Dave: Whats that?
Rooney: Acceptance. To remove the self loathing I feel now. To feel alive.
(Both nod even though scene makes no sense)

(It's a country field. Rooney wearing smart suit with no tie. He is staring up at the sky. A pretty girl is with him. She's been making advances. Rooney knocks her back dramatically with a push to the floor. She looks up lying on the floor)

Girl: You lost somebody
Rooney: i did
Girl: You catch whoever did it?
Rooney: no not yet
Girl: tell me when u do. i wanto to know how it feels

*Back to my bedroom. McGuinness is packing a bag. He scraps with Hatch who try to stop him. The audience is left wondering why McGuinness is packing a bag for Rooney in his bedroom*

(Will hands bag to Rooney in next scene)

Will: when you cant tell your friends from your enemies its time to go

(Rooney breaks into Maricourt High School. Approaches Sister Mary Thersea)

Rooney: right now i think your the only person i can trust.
*Nun nods her head*

(Large empty warehouse)
Martin: david move your ass *screamed*
(Camera pans out warehouse blows up in your token hollywood explosion scene)

(another attractive girl is pointing at rooney's chest)
Attractive girl: i wish i cud set you free but your prison is in there.

(Finally camera darkens and Rooney is a room. Hands on head dramatically. He's just had some news)
Rooney: You don't have to worry about me

We pan back out. The fall of David released this fall appears on screen. Two lesbians start making out. A huge explosion of fireworks and I strut back on the screen naked cupping both my bollocks.

*Finit*

I think i should probably say now that the above was ripped off a real movie advert and i merely changed a few words around to make something good. I'm not that weird. Obviously i'm a bit weird. But not mega weird.

Until next time,

Muchos gracias.

So where do we go from here?

So the funeral is over and everything from the previous topsy turvy 9 months have finally been settled, underlined and tied up in a pretty pink box with a bow. But where do we go from here? What happens next? No more funerals to organise, worry about what happens next in his illness, no worry about costs, fines, wondering why people are acting weird with you and how long he has left to live. All those worries and concerns have beeen answered. But again i ask where do we truly go from here?

I suppose the short answer is we just start the next era of my life as anxious about the future as ever. But in life there's always something to keep your mind busy and concerned. At least though I can now look forward to the future rather than stuck in the past dealing with all those problems. I can take the bold first step and check out what is thrown at me next...hopefully something saucy.

The funeral was as good as can be expected. The turn out was what got me the most emotional if i'm honest. The huge vast array of people from all corners of my Dad's life was fantastic to see. So many people turned up at the crematorium that they couldn't close the doors. We had about 100+ people turn up at the royal hotel after even though we'd only booked for 60. The ongoing message i got from people about my Dad was how funny he was and how he never had a bad word to say about anyone. That he was just genuinely a nice person. To hear this and see all these people present as a visual testament to this statement was lovely to see.

Also a big credit to all my friends who turned up. I was amazed at the number who turned up and as cheesy as it sounds (i feel its just the right amount of cheesiness to say it) it did give me the strength to get through the day. Seeing people you didnt think even knew about my Dad dying turning up was special to me. So thank you to all my friends a huge thank you in fact. Not many things get me emotional but that did and i hope i expressed that to everyone regardless of the amount of vodkas i got given.

Until next time fans keep the love and show the peace,

Through strange circumstance

It's getting late into the night and as you may already know i have a bloody busy day tomorrow to deal with. To be honest though part of me is fighting the urge to sleep. Once i wake up i will have to face up to the strange circumstances that life has thrown me this year and accept them as reality by attending the funeral of my Dad.

How did this ever happen? Writing such a sentence is absolutely mind boggling. It doesn't make sense nor do i doubt it will ever.

Right now I probably deep down think my Dad will return into the house and that at the moment he's just in hospital for a few weeks. The enormity of the fact he's gone and i won't ever see him again is both bizarre and unacceptable. I can't accept it.

Do we ever accept death? Surely some people must judging by the tears people shed over deceased loved ones. I still haven't shed a tear. Is it a macho male thing or is it, this is the rather pathetic bit, that i'm so immature that out of everyone else around me i'm the single person who cannot accept what has happened as reality?

I try to heroically paint over all this unemotion by suggesting that i'm being strong for my mum and sister out of the advice i got from my Dad back in 2002. Maybe in a way i am. But i'm beginning to suspect it's purely out of the fact i haven't accepted his death. Will i ever? Or will i continue to sleep walk through this lifes existence with a cheeky joke and merry innuendo disguising the fact that deep down i haven't a clue what's going on. Who knows. Not that i'm getting depressed. Far from it. Everyone loves cheeky jokes. My Dad certainly did and as i've said before i've learnt all this from him.

I just find my behaviour currently to be quite interesting and i'm sure a therapist would too...But then again i think i've always would have been an interest to therapist. Spinning on the floor, continous need for attention and the whole alter ego thing...

So I face tomorrow with dread. I can picture it now. Having to be sociable to a lot of people i've barely spoken to and say the same speech over and over

"Really upset but relieved in a way as it went on for so long and his quality of life was low"

You don't know how many times i've had to say that. I've practised the speech so much now its unbelieviable. Do i actually mean any of the words i speak though? I don't know. I don't know what i feel.

This blog is turning into quite a baffling philosophical chat about death and emotions. As i've said before i hate those type of blogs. But writing has been cleansing for me during the past few weeks as i've tried to get a grip on my life. Has it helped? Nope i'm still in denial and still confused about my emotions...but at least i know what my issues are!

It's just another struggle in this merry game of life we all play. As i have learnt life is incredibly short so there's not much point in wasting too much time on all these issues. It's best to tackle them as best as you can and battle on.

Tomorrow will be a battle. Once it's over i can put a lot of things behind me and try to move on. Not my Dad obviously. He'll always remain part of me but i mean the different aspects of my life which have gone oh so terribly wrong this year.

As i've said before 2008 has been worst year of my life. Toasting the new year on 31st December for a great new year full of optimism and hope. I had everything. I'd just started a moderately well paid job. I didn't have a lot of money but i truly was rich. Now i've lost everything i've held dear especially with the death of my Dad.

With the death of my Dad the rather dramatic "fall of David Rooney" was complete. Was it a fall from grace? Or a fall from the heedy heights i was once experiencing back in December. Or was i merely being poetic and overly dramatic yet again? Probably a bit of both. Plus it's a damn good catchy title for a blog. But in all seriousness I do consider this year as a fall for me. Everything that could have gone wrong has. Plus a lot more i've never mentioned.

Which moves me onto the next thing on my agenda. To capture the true shittiness of this year and what i've gone through i'm starting to write a short story about my year capturing every emotion, every event and event secret twist to 2008 that i experienced. A lot you will know about. A lot you won't. I don't know whether i'll ever publish it but it'll certainly be finished. I feel the need to put down the truly awfulness of this year in the written form so i can look back and hopefully see how i somehow recovered everything and rebuilt my house of cards next year in 2009. A wonderful new era? Here's hoping but i'm not going to bloody toast the year you can count on that.

So in closing tomorrow is to be a truly awful day for me. A day no one should go through for at least another 20 years. I'm going to miss my Dad a great deal which should probably grow as this fictional story finally sinks into my head as reality.

In closing though this should hopefully be the final emotional blog entry i ever write. I've heard from a lot of people who have read this site (which has surprised me people read...) and i'm sure they like emotional David. With a guy who makes jokes and hides behind witty remarks continously no one knows how he feels or who he truly is. It's hard to get to know someone who's like that. But unfortunately there's no changing me! The clown is me.

I've stated humour is my self defence mechanism. That is probably true. It's also who I am. Plus i've learnt that the people i'm close to know me and how i'm feeling regardless. I might be making a joke but deep down maybe they know what i'm feeling and how i'm acting. I mentioned the fact i sometimes feel that even though i don't know how i'm feeling and never would ask for help that deep down i'm screaming silently with everything going on and that no one can hear it. I've learnt in the past week that perhaps people can hear that silent scream.

That even though i may be making a joke about boobs people have cottoned on to the fact that something isnt right with me. That's a nice thing to know.

So that's how i'm closing tonights entry with a big thank you to those people who have helped me over the week and over the past 9 months. Whilst i've never told them face to face and they might not know themselves unless they read this (because being emotional face to face is awkward....) it has been the hardest year of my life and their friendship has been a great source of comfort for both me and my family. Obviously some people who have popped into my life again recently will disappear straight away but its still nice to know i made such an impact on their life that they felt the need to pass on a message to me during the bad times.

The impact i made on people to trigger this means that my Dad made a half decent human being after all! The good points people see in me to actually care about me during the bleak times are all the good parts of the personality i picked up from spending 22 years with my Dad. For that i'm eternally grateful to him. He was such a good human being and such a good Dad.

Until tomorrow friends, fans and lovers.

David

Winter is here

What's with the bloody cold weather right now? The worst thing about winter is how hard it is to get out of bed. I've had 12 hours sleep and the tv is on with an interview with will young on the tv with the remote miles away from me. Now usually Will Young would make me be violently ill and make me switch the channel in seconds. But because of the cold and the remote being away from me I was forced to watch about 15 minutes of that smug bastard discussing his homosexuality and his new records. Gutted.

Interesting morning in the Rooney household today. With the funeral all planned and organised there is now nothing to do but wait. I wish it was today so i could get it over with. But it's still a few days away of sitting around waiting patiently.

With the arrival of reflective David this spells trouble. Emotional David has still been held up somewhere. Maybe he missed his bus. So right now i have denial David and reflective David present with me. Reflective David is a bit of an ass to be honest. He accomplishes nothing with his reflectiveness but yet comes with his clever ideas of "lets look at facebook pictures and see what i was doing a year ago today" or going through photo albums. He achives nothing by making me do any of this except the realisation this time last year i was on formby beach. That's got nothing to do with anything that's happening right now and certainly doesn't achieve anything or make me feel better.

At least i have a holiday coming up which has been organised at the last minute. Right now it is my saving grace. A week monday i will jetting off to gran canaria for 7 precious days. Otherwise i would have been sat around for 2 weeks at home in my bedroom with the curtains drawn because there's a dead kittens body outside which has been run down (yeah true story).

Maybe i can put my house of cards in order and perhaps rebuild the slight train wreck that the world has endured from David Rooney in 2008. Obviously some of the actions of 2008 have been slightly amusing if not hysterical at times. But the actions of a man running with a full tank of petrol? Absolutely not. Maybe the sun, sea and spanish alcohol will rectify all this.

I think i'm going for lunch with will in a bit. A bit like an episode of sex and the city i hope. I'll be carrie and we can discuss how i had sex with 8 men last night in a huge orgy. It doesn't make me dirty or slaggish but it empowers womens kind! Yeah!

Until next time fans,

Few quick words

Let's continue with the emotional theme of the blog and return to the general funniness and loveliness once the funeral is over.

First things first i would like to say is a big thank you to people who have been in touch since i announced my dad's death on monday night. A lot of private messages, emails, msn messages, text messages and phone calls have flooded through to yours truly.

A lot of people have got in touch who i never thought would and a lot of people i knew would get in touch and support me have been even better than expected. So for that i thank all you people. As i've written before i won't ever ask for support nor will i ever feel i need it but it's very, very comforting knowing you have a lot of people who care and support about you at times like this in your life. So for that i'm eternally grateful.

I've been signed off work since tuesday and begin my annual leave of 2 weeks from this coming monday. So my holidays have fallen in at a good time if thats the best choice of words. The other good thingis i've been kept ultra busy since its all happened. The amount of work you have to do to organise a funeral is unbelieviable. From choice of coffins, to choice of foods and what my dad will actually wear for the occassion are all decisions that have had to be made.

Funeral is on monday at 2:30. If anyone is free and able to come and more importantly wishes to then get in touch with me or anyone who knows me for that matter. A lot of my friends are coming which again is very supportive of them. A lot can't come because of work which is understandable. I wonder why funerals have to take place on a week day....

I wonder how i will actually be at the funeral. Really i haven't a clue what i'll be like. Right now the old Rooney push your emotions to the side/ignore them attitude is present. Maybe this will occur for the rest of my life. A constant denial of things which seeps away for a few brief minutes to sadness that i'll never speak to my dad again or see him in the house in the morning before i shake the thoughts off and carry on with my day. Maybe i'm not mature enough to accept death yet in my life. Or maybe i'm too old now that i've become numb towards the concept of death after this year of utter crap.

The title of this blog the fall of David is how i see this whole year. A fall from grace. A fall from what i did have on January 1st to what i've been left with now. I see the year beginning and i'm in a house looking out the window. As every bad event of the year takes place parts of the house starts to fall away....tiles collapse and cracks appear in the wall before eventually i'm left with just the foundations of the house stripped away. I think the message of this day dream i keep seeing is that this year has stripped away down and has seen my life crash to the ground. But what happens now? Rebuilding must take place. The inevitable happened with my dads' death. Now i must rebuild and regroup.

Rightr now i'm preferring being alone in my room which means a lot of lovely messages have been left with no reply. I mean no offense by this and i will get around to replying to everyone. right now i don't want to talk about whats happened or basically talk about it at all. That's weird...David Rooney has been shut up for once...

Until next time fans. Keep the love.

The fight is over

My Dad died tonight at 10pm after 9 months of the worst most intense fight i've ever witnessed. It all begin on January 1st and ended tonight on September 1st. Right now a mixture of absolute sadness mixed with relief that someone i loved would stop suffering so much in front of my own eyes.

I've described this blog as the fall of david rooney because since january 1st that's all i've felt i've been doing. In a trance like state blindly walking through the tragic chain of events that have beset me and my family during this year.

The 4 people in my family we were always close. The one gift that my Dad told me was to laugh. I always grew up wanting to be like my Dad and make people laugh too. He always had a fun time and never took life seriously. Whilst i've sometimes thought i've taken after other people in hindsight i was always trying to be like my dad. Always trying to make people laugh. Always remaining private with my thoughts and feelings. I was trying to be like him.

I'll miss him dreadfully. Especially the night time chats i'd have with him as i'd come in from somewhere and chat to him in the kitchen about various matters. Things like football, politics, world history, scum...always topics covered. Or the funny nights we spent watching crap movies on tv. We never went to watch good movies we'd intentionally look through the tv guide to find the worst movie possible and end up watching it. I especially remember the night we watched texas chainsaw massacre and found it the funniest thing ever due to mainly the crappy acting. Maybe we had the same sense of humour i don't know.

He always stressed the importance of family to me and how we had to be strong for my sister and mum when my grandad died. I wasnt particularly strong i.e the mess of 2002 but at home with my mum and sister i was strong. I will have to be the same this time. But strong i will attempt to be.

Dad i know you'll never read this no matter where you are due to the fact you couldnt work a computer...but i want you to know how thankful i am for what you did for me. You gave me such a happy house to grow up in and taught me how to laugh and look at life. And i love you very much for it all.
