So the funeral is over and everything from the previous topsy turvy 9 months have finally been settled, underlined and tied up in a pretty pink box with a bow. But where do we go from here? What happens next? No more funerals to organise, worry about what happens next in his illness, no worry about costs, fines, wondering why people are acting weird with you and how long he has left to live. All those worries and concerns have beeen answered. But again i ask where do we truly go from here?
I suppose the short answer is we just start the next era of my life as anxious about the future as ever. But in life there's always something to keep your mind busy and concerned. At least though I can now look forward to the future rather than stuck in the past dealing with all those problems. I can take the bold first step and check out what is thrown at me next...hopefully something saucy.
The funeral was as good as can be expected. The turn out was what got me the most emotional if i'm honest. The huge vast array of people from all corners of my Dad's life was fantastic to see. So many people turned up at the crematorium that they couldn't close the doors. We had about 100+ people turn up at the royal hotel after even though we'd only booked for 60. The ongoing message i got from people about my Dad was how funny he was and how he never had a bad word to say about anyone. That he was just genuinely a nice person. To hear this and see all these people present as a visual testament to this statement was lovely to see.
Also a big credit to all my friends who turned up. I was amazed at the number who turned up and as cheesy as it sounds (i feel its just the right amount of cheesiness to say it) it did give me the strength to get through the day. Seeing people you didnt think even knew about my Dad dying turning up was special to me. So thank you to all my friends a huge thank you in fact. Not many things get me emotional but that did and i hope i expressed that to everyone regardless of the amount of vodkas i got given.
Until next time fans keep the love and show the peace,
